Andy Bey was born in Newark, NJ in 1939. At 17 he formed a trio with his sisters Salome and Geraldine and recorded three albums with them. He recorded with Max Roach, Horace Silver, Gary Bartz and Stanley Clarke and released a solo LP in 1972 (Experience And Judgment). In 1996 he returned to recording, releasing "Balads, Blues And Bey" and since then has made numerous recordings mainly on CD.
